Letter arrives this morning from the O.R. asking for all statements from all my bank accounts and credit cards for the last twelve months. I need to also send all my bank cards, credit cards and cheque books. (All that is apparently supposed to fit in a standard A5 prepaid envelope) LOL.
Prior to the bankruptcy we decided to go paperless. We managed to print 12 months of all credit card statements by logging in online. We could not print the bank statements as these did not have my name and address as standard at the top of each one. The letter from the O.R. said all these documents must be posted within 48 hours. I was due to work 2x10 hour shifts on Monday and Tuesday so we decided to get it sorted over the weekend. We queued with the kids for hours at the banks which we needed statements from. Lloyds didn't want to give 12 months so they took some persuading, and Barclays only have 3 people authorised to print over 3 months worth of statements...lucky for us, this assistant was one of them.
We put everything in the envelope and checked it thoroughly to make sure we hadn't missed anything. I also had to sign a couple of documents, one allowing the O.R. to share details with HMRC. Another was one which needed witnessing.
One thing which confused me was that I was told by the Official Receiver I would be able to continue to use my bank account. I would not be able to do so if I sent her the card for this account. I will have to call her first thing Monday morning to find out whether to send it or not.
