Checked it out, if my bank account is frozen my wages will be returned to my employer. Shit, I get paid tomorrow.
Wife has called Child Benefit and Tax Credits and asked them to pay into her sole account. They cannot guarantee when the first payments to the new account will be. Hmmm thinking we're completely balls'd here.
The foodbank voucher expires on Friday and local foodbank is only open today. I'm working. I wonder if she'll go.
Get a text message from my wife saying she's been to the foodbank. Says it was worth it.
Also she has applied for a new online bank account with Ffrees (part of Natwest). No credit checks, no monthly admin fee, all she needed was my drivers licence number. Wait and see if I get accepted.
Get home from work. Yes, the foodbank have looked after us well. No need to go food shopping for a few days. Not all things we might normally buy but a really good selection and my wife said they were so nice to her in there. We can certainly make meals with what they have provided us with. Thanking the people that donate to the foodbank. We have donated ourselves in the past and will do so again in the future. My wife said she's sure we wont need to go there again but she wasn't made to feel bad about going in there. They made her a coffee, offered her a biscuit and she chatted to a really nice woman about our situation. The woman was concerned about our housing situation and when my wife explained we were with the local housing association she was given a name of someone who could discuss debt/give advice if needed.
